Project Scope
Proyecto Manuelito has been rescuing kids from the streets of Honduras and providing them with a God centered home and education since 1999. That year, Jorge Pinto and his wife Marta started housing children on the second floor of their church in Tegucigalpa. Currently some of those children are in their last year of college. The goal of Jorge and Marta is to return men and women, who have been transformed by Christ, to Honduran society.
After some kids started returning to the Tegucigalpa street culture, Jorge purchased 11.5 hectares in Talanga, Honduras in 2002. The following year an EMI team designed the current facility and construction started immediately.
After the move to Talaga the children started to attend the local public school. Many were bullied or not accepted so Proyecto Manuelito started schooling them on site in a converted storage building. This school will only be allowed to operate until 2011. This year the ministry purchased the adjacent six acres with the goal of building a school.
Will you prayerfully consider donating your time to help Honduran children grow in an environment of hope through faith in Christ?
