Team Needs
Project Scope
Jon and Marillyn Beard and their parents Wayne and Brooke Goranson joined together to fulfill a call to create Rancho Oasis for Youth. Their passion is to reach the youth of Ojojona Honduras with the love of Christ through friendship, discipleship, work/ ranch/ farm training, literacy, English tutoring, and horse rescue partnerships. Their second focus is reaching the inner city youth of Tegucigalpa, the country capital an hour north, with Christ centered youth retreats.

“We desire to establish the property as a ranch and begin to minister to the needs of children and teenagers. Many are currently ‘at risk’ in abusive situations, severe poverty, and without hope for a future beyond their current state. In all that we do, we will establish a safe place for the youth that come to our oasis by constantly sharing the love and Gospel of Jesus Christ with them in our actions and speech and helping them to understand God’s desire for them to know and love Him in turn. We believe that true and permanent healing and change comes only in understanding who we are in God’s sight and surrendering to His will so that He is able to change the course of our life for all eternity.”

The project involves transforming Oasis’ six acres with four wells, one house with no indoor plumbing and unfinished multi-purpose building into a working ranch and refuge for children and teens. The EMI team will design bunkhouses, a meeting/kitchen facility, classrooms, staff housing, horse facilities, and farming areas and the corresponding site master plan. The team will design the necessary infrastructure; water, waste water, and electrical.

Will you prayerfully consider co-laboring with the Beards and Goransons in making Rancho Oasis a reality?
